8-Curses in Mahaabhaarat
Hindu scriptures are full of boons
and curses. Normally only gods, kings, Apsaraa, Yaksh etc were cursed.
Mahaabhaarat also has several curses and boons. Here are some curses in
MBH
Curse to Karn
Karn was cursed by two people - his Guru Parashuraam and a Braahman. Both
curses were pointing towards the conditions in which he was going to die,
otherwise he could not be won by anybody, that is why Indra had to beg his
Kavach and Kundal. About his Kavach, Indra said "There are many Divya
Astra (Divine weapons) but Kavach is only one and that is with Karn. And
Kundal were for his long life.
Curse to Krishn
This curse to Krishn was from Gaandhaaree that "Yadu Vansh should also be
destroyed as my Vansh has been destroyed."
Other Types of Curses
Curse to Bheeshm
This was not a curse in real sense, rather it was a vow, but it was also to
kill Bheeshm. It was by Ambaa, the Princess of Kaashee. She took a vow that
she will be the cause of Bheeshm's death whether she had to take many lives.
Curse to Drone
This was also not a curse in real sense, but in this one King Drupad performed a
Yagya to get a son who could kill Drone because the frustration of his insult by
him.
