4-Raam's Army

Raam's Army

Many names and their fathers' names are given in V-Raamaayan, 1/5/17. All Devtaa produced 10 million Vaanar who lived in various caves of various mountains. Tulasee writes in his Maanas 5/9 (Sundar Kaand) that Raam had 18 Padm Vaanar army; 18 Padm means - 18,000 trillion (Padum Athaaraha Joothap Bandar).

Raam organized His army like this:
Neel went with 100,000 Vaanar
Shatbalee was protecting that army with his 100 million Vaanar
Kesaree, Panas, Gaj were protecting it with 1 billion Vaanar

Shaardool reports to Raavan that Raam's army was spread up to 10 Yojan.

Vaalmeeki Jee reports that 10 billion monkeys crossed the bridge and arrived in Lankaa. Bridge was 10 Yojan wide and 100 Yojan long.

By the order of Raam, Lakshman asked for 10 million Vaanar army on each of the four gates. 10 Million Vaanar were at Lankaa's Gate, and rest were waiting round. [50 million Vaanar at gates plus waiting around]
