As one says "Golden Temple", immediately people think of Amritsar and the Sikh's pride Golden Temple. An estimated over $120 million (600 Crores of Indian Rupees) spent, to construct a true Golden Temple for Goddess Mahaa Lakshmee (installed and maintained by Shree Naaraayanee Peeth). This Temple is situated 6 km away from the District Headquarters, Vellore, North Arcot District in Tamil Naadu at Shreepuram.

This Mahaa Lakshmee Temple called Shreepuram and made of more than a ton of pure gold with glitter, glamorous and gleam under the Sun is unveiled for consecration by the Shree Naaraayanee Peetham headed by a 31-year-old God Man who calls himself "Naaraayanee Ammaa". It was opened in August 2007. Devotees hail the Temple as "one of the wonders of the world" and say that it is the only Temple which is covered fully with pure Gold. Its both exterior and interior are covered with more than 1 ton of pure gold.

More than 400 gold and coppersmiths from the Tirupathi Thirumalaa Dev Sthaan worked for six years to craft this Rs 600-crore Golden Temple located on a 55,000 sq ft of land on a 100-acre salubrious stretch in Malaikodi, about 6 km from Vellore in North Tamil Naadu. According to official sources, the gold bars were purchased through RBI in "a transparent manner".

The star shape route is Darshan Maarg which covers the Pradakshinaa before Darshan. Very beautiful architecture, best maintained clean and neat and what else ... no words to describe. It is worth to visit at least once !!!
