Brahm Puraan is the 1st Puraan in the row of 18 Puraan. It contains 10,000 Shlok (verses). This Puraan and the Vaaman Puaan are the shortest ones as they both contain only 10,000 Shlok (verses) each.

Shrines at holy places like Puree, Konaark and Bhuvaneshwar are described in addition to the portions of Mahasbhsarat, and some other Puraan like Maarkandeya Puraan etc. Story of Daksh's sacrifice, story of Krishn, description of certain Avataar like Varaah, Narasinh etc, are dealt within this Puraan. It also deals with creation of the world and description of the Sapt Dweep.
