Creation

Creation means to make something new from available resources. Bible has created this world in 6 days, but our Hindu religion says something else.

Hindu say "Om Tat Sat" means Om is the reality. It is the complete description of the 4-dimensional Universe, and the noise pervading it. The three limbs of Devnaagaree OM stand for the curved 3-dimensional space or the material part of the Universe. The Crescent represents the Time component of the space time continuum. It is continuum, not a continuity, because the relationship between the components is not obvious. The Dot is the humming noise corresponding to few degrees Kelvin experimentally observed to permeate outer space uniformly. It is an energy dimension, not yet understood. It has been predicted as a consequence of Bing-bang theory of the origin of the Universe, but is not dependent upon the theory, since it is an independent experimental observation.

Thus Om represents all the observed attributes of the manifest Universe. The three dimensions of space : the Time and the Humming Noise. The Universe may be visualized as 5-dimensional : Space, Time, Energy.

--Krishn says in Geetaa, 14/3 - "The vast Universe is my womb. I inseminate the same, whereby all beings rise."
--Taittireeya Upanishad also echoes the sentiment - "The Brahm desired "May I procreate the many". He performed penance and procreated everything - everything whatsoever. After creating them He entered them and became the pair of opposites.
--Purush Sookt looks upon Creation in more prosaic terms as a Yagya or ritual sacrifice of the gods.

From out of the 5-dimensional Being came out a 4-dimensional one or the Space-Time. This was a lower order of Reality represented by Brahmaa, the 4-headed Progenitor or the Prajaapati. His four heads represent the four dimensions of Space-Time.

Vishnu is still lower on the scale. He is Tribhuvan Vapush (Vapush means body). Being the three worlds as His body. The three worlds are the three dimensions of space or x, y, z of co-ordinate geometry. He is colored blue-black combining the blueness of the terrestrial sky with the blackness of the outer space. he represents the regal authority of the Divinity with the magisterial powers on Earth and regulates the evolution of life on Earth. The Vaaman Avataar is the demonstration of Vishnu's 3-dimensionality contrasted to the 2-dimensionality of the Asur regions.

Vishnu lives in the Milky Ocean which is the star-studded milky way. He lies on the coiled 5-headed snake Anant, Anant literally means endless. Endless are the forms of Anant. The coiled snake stands for the helical form of the DNA and the protein builder RNA - the two templates of life. Though the molecules have several billion repetitive units, they are made up of five organic bases, three of which are common to both DNA and RNA, and one is exclusive to each. The five heads of Anant represent the five bases.

The Padmnaabh gives the whole picture. Vishnu reclining on the bed formed by the coiled snake Anant stands for DNA-RNA template based Life floating in 3-dimensional space. The lotus rising from His navel is the umbilical connection of life on Earth. The lotus stands for the 3-dimensional space which, according to Einstein's ideas, is curved like a saddle due to gravity. The lotus petal is the equivalent of the saddle. the Brahmaa on the lotus is anthropomorphic formalization of the ultimate.

The Chaturbhuj (4-armed) Vishnu with 6 limbs and a human form is the fusion of the two dominant forms of life on Earth - vertebrate and invertebrate. The former are 4-limbed while the latter have multiplicity of limbs. the most common invertebrates like ants and cockroach are 6-limbed. The Ardh-Naareeshwar image is the intermediate stage in evolution from the asexual organism to the sexual bifurcation for rapid dissemination of the evolutionarily desirable mutations.

Thus the Genesis in Hinduism may be  summed up - life originates in deep Space-Time represented anthropomorphically as the 4-headed Brahmaa and develops as the fetus Vishnu representing the 3-dimensional space (supported by the DNA-RNA templates shown as the coiled snake Anant) the living beings therein.

Creation is of two types - Sthaavar (immovable), called Udbhij also which are born bursting out the ground such as trees, mountains etc and Jangam (movable) creation. Jangam creation is of four types - (1) Swedaj - which are born from sweat, such as bedbugs etc, (2) Andaj - which are born from eggs, such as chicks, birds etc, and (3) Jaraayuj - which are born with Naal attached to them as a child, such as human beings, many animals etc, and (4) Udbhij - which are born by bursting out the earth, such as trees, mountains etc.
